Are there any prerequisites for the test?
You must have applied to take the entrance exam and paid the
fee. Your application is NOT required to be complete at the time of
application to take the Entrance Exam.
Tell me about the test...
It is an online entrance exam, that is scored in real time. You may not have heard of this being used in the EMS field, but online
testing has become very common in other fields.
When will the test be given?
The link is sent once applications are processed. The test may be completed anytime in the time
frame that will be set when you receive the email link. You should allow 2
uninterrupted hours to take the test.

What format will the tests take?
The test is divided into sections:
A test of basic education skills- reading, basic math, and basic
vocabulary.
A test of EMT knowledge- this test will be multiple choice, best answer.
How hard will it be?
The tests cover a wide range of challenge- some of the test you will
find simple, some you will find tough. Just do your best, pace yourself so
that you can complete the test in the allotted time, and try not to second-guess
yourself.
What is passing score?
There is really no PASS or FAIL- these tests are simply a way to
gauge your aptitude for learning, retention, and interpretation that will be
of benefit in the course. We do not expect 100% from anyone, but we also
don't expect 1% from anyone. In the instance of applications exceeding our
available space, the scores and interviews will be used to choose students and
alternates.
How do I find out how I did?
You may ask about your scores during your interview.
When will I be notified if I am selected for the class?
You will be notified after your application is complete. Earlier or later notification
makes no difference in the class; all students start equally. Students
seated as an alternate will be contacted no later than 2 weeks before the class
starts and the Alternate policy discussed with them.
What is the cost?
There is a $25 fee for the entrance examination. This testing fee is non-refundable.
Can I be on call?
Since the test is timed, it would not be advisable.
